September 17th Cometh!!!!!

The next challenge is almost upon us!!!!
I understand that Dick on a recent visit to Doncaster has been seeking out information about his playing partner?
Well the news is that Steve has not really played much this year. Steve's form is patchy.
Colin Montgomery will definately not be including Steve in this years Ryder Cup.
I am sure all will be good on the day.

If Steve's form is patchy what about Graham?
Since becoming a member of Forest Park Graham has upped his game. At a recent works tournament he hit a score just under the 100. FANTASTIC.
Unfortunately when playing with Steve a few days later he hit just a bit over the hundred!!!!!!!!!

Should be a good day on the 17th.
Looking forward to the evening as well seeing as Doncaster play Leeds at the Keepmoat Stadium.

See you soon.

Nip and Tuck All The Way!!!!!!!

It did not look good as the Yorkshire boys headed across the Pennines for the latest SaleMoor4Golf challenge.

Heavy rain was falling. The prospect of 18 holes in the rain was not a thought that any of us relished.

Surprise, surprise the rain stopped just as the Yorkshire boys were cleared by Lancashire customs.

Although still a little cold it was dry when SteveT hit the first drive of the day.

The match was like being in the prescence of a good plastic surgeon 'Nip and Tuck' with the first breakthrough coming at the 9th. Graham nad Tony taking a one shot lead.

The brothers held the lead until the around the 13th hole when DickB and SteveT pulled a hole back.

The brothers took the lead once again at the 17th and it looked like it was all over especially as SteveT was now building sand castles moving from one bunker to another.

One last twist. On the 18th DickB, we now call him 'DICKIBIRDIEBROWNE' holed a fantastic putt to half the match.

A big decision was made to play some extra holes.
After 20 holes it was still all square.

What a day.

Follow the link below to see some putts that are almost as good as 'DICKIBIRDIEBROWNES' on the 18th.

Sometimes you just wonder!!!!!!

I have been developing my mental skills as we prepare for our next golf challenge on April the 19th.

Recently I was on a weekend course with a number of coaches.
We were given a task to complete and after talking things through an idea developed. The result was we ended up talking through holes.

It was great fun.............................................................

Here comes the picture!!!!!!

I have also included a link to an interview with Jose ( I am not sure how you get that little thing over e) after Inter beat Chelsea. A very reflective Jose but in my view a great coach, master planner and tactician.

I wonder if he has a view on how to beat the brothers????

What Do Some Golfers Do When They Can't Find Their Balls in The Snow?

Well two of them Graham Early and Steve Twynham decided to do a 10k challenge on the treadmill at the Roko gym, Clifton Moor York.
To be fair the two of them planned to do the challenge before the Christmas break anyway realising that it helps to be a supreme athelete if you want to improve your golf.
Graham and Steve had been training since early September 09,(thought I would just mention that before some comment was made suggesting 08).
The day finally arrived and the 10k challenge took place on December 19th at 9.30am.
What a great event it was, the staff at the gym, well one of them had dressed up as Santa's helper. I must say she could come down my chimmey anytime!!!!!!
Prior to entering the changing room the girl who works in the Costa Coffee (we should be getting paid for all these mentions) asked how long did we think it would take us. Our reply was quicker than we were served with a coffee the last time we visited Roko as we had to remind her twice that we had ordered. The banter was good and the place was energised.

Great news Steve and Graham broke the 60 minute mark, infact they both achieved personal bests. A fantastic day.

Celebrations took place in the coffee lounge, Santa's helper helped and served the coffee bringing it to the table, this really made the coffee taste that much better.
As a treat Steve had a Latte with Creme Brulee. Slightly worried at first when he asked what it tasted like and the reply came back.........a bit like rice pudding?

Well that is the 10k challenge done.
Graham and Steve now have to decide what the next challenge will be?

Ben Fogle and James Cracknell watch out, North Yorkshire challenges are on your case.

Enjoy the festive break.

Golf Question

Can you help with this one.

A player tees off and hits the ball in the rough.
Another player walking down the opposite fairway has also hit his ball into the rough and subsequently plays the wrong ball.
What should the player who tee'd off do?
What is the ruling.

Toe Story!!!!!

No it is not the latest sequel to Toy Story but an update on the injury.
Great to say things are improving and hopefully I will be back in the gym this weekend.
How I here you ask does this effect my golf?
Well quite simply it is a little difficult to hit the ball with the balance mainly on one leg.
Some would say that is how I normally hit it!!!!!

I will keep you posted.

Injury Scare For Golfing Duo

It seems that there may be a slight doubt about the SaleMoor4 trophy early next year following a freak accident to Steve Twynham.
Last night Steve tripped over his laptop bag severely bruising a toe in the process.
Speaking with local reporter Luke Bunion, Steve said "Hey these things happen if I remember Rio Ferdinand hurt is leg watching television. I am sure people are reading to much into this and I will be back on the course shortly".
Steve went onto say he will post regular updates on the progress of the injury and asked all to watch the blog for further information".
